Hello, thanks for the video. I have a 2 y/o dog (mini Goldendoodle) that I want to train to go in the garage on a puppy pad. I know it’s probably against what you preach but try to look past that for me. lol
We did this successfully with our previous pup but this one isn’t getting it.
We keep him in a baby gate play area in the kitchen when we can’t watch him and he sleeps in there at night too. He thinks that is where he goes to the bathroom when he doesn’t use his puppy pad in the garage.
He will hit a bell when we tell him to go to the garage (7 out of 10x’s) but it’s not consistent enough. So how do we break his kitchen potty habit and have him alert us when he needs to go? Thank you. 🐶
Why in all these training videos are they saying crate training helps with potty training but not explaining why? We let our dog out all the time and the minute were inside its on the floor. Please someone tell me how we’re doing everything in the videos and getting no results
Brilliant video and I love the fact you say to take them to "we're you want them to go" as most videos I watch all bang on about tak8ng them outside or on to grass. Unfortunately, I can't do that, so it's padd training for us. Not what I prefer, but the only option at the moment. Thanks pal 👌🏻
I’ve just rescued a 2 year old pocket bully who was abandoned in a cage. 😢 I haven’t put her in a Crate as I feel that would bring back some trauma? What do you think? And thank you for the video
at what point do you reduce the frequency of walks/go outside for your dog to pee/poop.. my dog is 6 months old she mostly goes outside but if i miss going out for like 2 hrs she lands up peeing at home. was wondering how many times do i need to go out .. and when can i stop every hour to maybe once in 2-3 hrs and 4-5 hrs and so on n so forth. thanks
I’m not sure I inderstand. Do we take them out every hour?? Because that’s not realistic, or is it just for the puppy phase and do we increase time gradually?
I take my dog out every hour on the hour, he doesn’t use the restroom often when I take him out but it will hit late at night and that’s when he will release his bladder, he is scared of the rain and dislikes the cold, so he just straight up will not go while we are outside and after being in a shelter since birth he just feels more comfortable emptying his bladder inside anytime I walk away (in his kennel) but I know he doesn’t like it because he acknowledges and pouts when he does
Hi, has anyone got any advice for a rescue who keeps having accidents in the house even after being taken out? Shes a 3 yr old swiss shepherd, Ive tried the on the hour thing, praise massively after she does something but sometimes if she doesnt want to go, she will cower and lay down and whine for half hour until we decide to go back in. Then will go on the kitchen rug not long after. She will cower and roll over when i notice so i just put her outside while i clean up. She knows its wrong and i dont scold her its just getting abit frustrating as we are always letting her out and as i say, loads of praise when she goes. When we got her about a month ago, she wouldnt even poo unless we were with her in the garden as she just sat at the door whining. Any advice appreciated, thankyou x
I live in a flat, my pup is 5 months and she isn’t toilet trained and isn’t vaccinated (I just got her) I can’t take her to a grass area…where do I start 😵💫😭
My husband and I work a full time job. We are getting a 4 month old puppy. Should I leave the dog in a crate during the 8 hours I’m at work? Or should I leave him in the backyard?
Potty training can be very frustrating for some people. This video has a lot of useful information. If you'd like to go a bit more in-depth into the behavior behind it, and how to use that for dog potty training, check out this video ❤:
My puppy is now 8 months. He’s still not trained. He has crate anxiety so can’t use it. He starts pooping all over himself and his crate all of a sudden while he’s in there. He’s an all white poodle. I need help. Or puppy has to go.
My 5 month old puppies have been getting really good about toilet training but last night I left them and went for a bath. They had been allowed into the garden beforehand and they are crate trained so have control of their toileting but after my bath, probably an hour after I left them, they had gone to the toilet on the living room carpet. I don't know if it was a mistake or separation anxiety. Any thoughts anyone?
I’m struggling. I got 2 puppies from a family that just had them going in pads in the house in a kiddie pen. Honestly don’t know if they ever went outside before I got them. They will go outside for me and we do the whole celebration then 10 mins later pee in my kitchen
I keep taking my puppy outside and will stay outside for about 30 mins or more, and she will wait til we come back in… EVERYTIME. Please, someone help. I'm losing my mind.
When do you or the dog sleep if every hour on the hour? You mention “after a nap” but when is a nap if every hour on the hour? Seems a conflicting message which would be great to clarify
My dog tolerates when we go for a walk and when we come home he does everything . The puppy is 4 months old and he has never peeed or pooped outside 😢
I just adopted a 3 year old German Shepherd/ Yellow lab mix, he has accidents when he gets excited or scared. When we wake up in the morning, as I walking him to the door to go out, he tries to jump up and he pees a little, same thing when getting home from work. What can I do? He also won’t go potty in the backyard, only on walks.
I take my havanese 13 weeks old every half hour ,but she will go every 10 minutes at times,my mat was just about flooting out the door .I praise her a every time ,but many accidents during the day ,

any tips on how to potty train a puppy like the dog you mentioned? i believe they refer to it as “dirty dog syndrome”
What does crate training mean exactly?

We just got a six month old dog. We are not home all day and sleep at night. How can we take her out every hour?
Does this work with a non British dog?

Such great puppy potty training tips! Sending love and warm greetings from Missouri.
What does "give them the opportunity" mean? I put her in the right spot and she just runs off. How do you keep her there to go toilet?
Mine is passing me off damn bad. It's been 2 damn months and it's Fn horrible.

Do you give out to them when they make a mistake ?

I would love to see a video about excitement- or submissive peeing, als this is another facet of the toilet training you're treating in this video.
