My puppy is 14 weeks old; he's been with us since 7 weeks, and I've been following this routine for that length of time. He is not getting it. I take him outside; he wees, then comes inside and does another one. Sometimes he looks you dead in the eye and does one. I don't know who to crack the code. We have the doors open as it is summer here; there are no excuses now. This is the 3rd dog I have owned, it's not from lack of knowledge. Hoping that by 16 weeks, he will be toilet-trained.
How do you get your dog to tell.you they need to go out. My older dog is really good this and I'm not sure my little one is going to get pick this up
Would it be ok to make a puppy potty in balcony until puppy has seconds vaccine? Would it be same principle?
Did anyone find a potty training video for people in the high rise buildings rather than houses with backyards? I gave balcony, will it work with pads?
I just got a standard poodle. mind you those dogs are extremely smart. She got basic commands so quick yeah she still goes inside the house if she feels like it it’s honestly ridiculous. I don’t recommend anyone to get a standard poodle as your first dog. This isn’t even my first dog. This is my second dog. My first dog is trained so I have somewhat of experience.
Revenge Pooping! My Xolo revenge poops when I leave the house, for minutes even. No matter what her eating or pooping schedule, she manages to poo or pee when I walk out the door, even just to check the mail. I thought emotional, but No…behavioral. Yes, she is spoiled. I have a dog door to a big backyard. We exercise in a agility course. treats again. We have a party, high quality treats, when she poops outside. She will go inside, poop by the door and come back outside. She knows she was bad, and will run and hide when I see her. I have a potty patch inside by the door for when I am gone for a while. She misses the spot and goes next to it. Again, I have confused her. She needs a big walk each day and poops then. I praise her. She is a 6 y/o rescue I have had since she was 4 months old. I am a frustrated failure.
I smiled the whole way through.
We bought a border collie pup two weeks ago, we've had him on the grass from day one. we let him out very regularly, at least six hours a day since they need a lot of stimulation. So naturally he goes 90% out side, but even after coming in right after he'll go on his puppy pad in pen. we don't let him go around freely since he's not trained, so when he's not out side its pen, crate or lead. when he does pee in the pen we don't praise but ignore him while we clean it up, out side he gets a lot of praise when he goes out side. Ild be grateful for any advice.
My dog just want to play when i take him out.
What’s the alternative to grass if I live in an apartment?
I’ve just adopted a year old pup . I actually was taking him
Up the garden every hour and he’s only been here 5 nights but no accidents over night ! Until I let him see a bit more of the house then he peed on my carpet lol he’s not been in house before shelter dog . Will be signing up to watch the videos been long long time since I had a young dog. Thank
You for making the videos !
Why is it that my puppy can go from 10pm to 7am in his crate without a single accident but as soon as he is out of the crate, he needs to go all the time, and on my carpet, not on the lawn.
My 6 month pup that I’ve had for a month have been really good about having to potty outdoor. Since it’s a puppy, I try to take it outside as often as I can and like every 3-4 hours.
I keep her in her area when I’m at work, but let her sleep in my bed. But last night she peed in my bed and we went to bed around 2am. and took her out to do her business around 1am.
I should’ve known she needed to go bc she was napping for about 2 hours and when we went to bed, instead of going to sleep. she was moving about on the bed. I was tired and just figured she was not sleepy bc she was sleeping already. It was my fault and I should’ve taken her out one more time before going to bed.
So this morning after discovering she had peed, I took her out and had to do laundry before having to go to work.
I wasn’t to yell at her, but realized she really didn’t have much of a choice. Also laying those pads on the floor, I need to see how to train, but she tends to chew them up.
My puppy has been asleep for 3 weeks and hasn’t eaten or drank anything in that time. It's as if he's broken or not working properly – can anyone tell me what to do please?
My puppy poops in his bed in the cage
@Will Atherton Canine Training , do you have a video that trains us humans after the fact? I gave too much freedom from the get go and now my 12-week old Lab still will sometimes pee in the house. He understands pee-pee outside and we always go out 1st thing in the morning, after being in his crate and after eating but sometimes after drinking a lot of water, he'll just go pee immediately on the rug before I catch him in the act. When I do catch (& startle him) we'll head outside and he'll finish peeing. He's a smart boy but I think I'm the dumb one in this duo. Thx!!
old man said, leave him outside for a year.
when i repeated his answer? he yelled yes a year!!!
If they are puppies around 8 weeks. Allowing them outside without their shots is a massive no, no
Recently adopted a 3 month old beagle mix puppy. I live in an apartment with my 16 month old toddler. During night time she does amazing going to potty on the pads but day time, it’s like she forgets where she has to go and has accidents on the carpet or literally between my toddler toys and it can be so frustrating sometimes. There moments I am not able to take her out by hour every hour. I have a toddler to feed, an apartment to keep clean, clothes to wash. Any suggestions or tips would be great!!
So how do you get your dog to go to the door and let you know they need to go? My dog will go if I take him out myself, but he won't notify me that he needs to go outside.
I'm struggling, I set the timer for every 40 minutes and my puppy sometimes does 4 tiny wees in that 40 minutes. When i take him outside he tends to want to play and won't go, when we go back inside, he goes. It's gotten better but not sure what to do. Take him out after, nap, meals and play.
I've visited many "dog training" vids lately & have noticed most are simply selling some kinda "plan or subscription" type of scheme for training tips from so called "dog experts" or "professional trainers" which do absolutely nothing for your money. And they could care less about your actual experience or relationship with your dog. This guy is really good. I'm surprised also that he charges absolutely ZERO money 💰! Awesome Sauce!!
So I have a very small, 4 pound, 3 month old Pomeranian Poodle cross (mostly Poodle). Anyway, my question is, every damn time my puppy cries in the night, am I supposed to haul my tired arse out of bed and take her outside to pee? I have another question I guess too: She's tiny, and shivers in the snow. How the heck do I talk her into thinking this was a good idea? It's so hard watching her shiver!
So i work from home so although im gonna be with the puppy i cant keep an eye on them constantly. Is he saying they should be in the crate unless i am interacting with them, playing and giving my full attention? Or just when i am separate from them? Seems a bit mean to keep them in the crate while im working at my computer?
What if your puppy keeps peeing in his crate? At night?
(You can train a dog in shorter time than a baby human. No humans have accidents when they are not a baby, any longer.) Just be sure to take your dogs outside every three hours until they are trained. Remember, humans train dogs.
All good ideas. We had one dog who was taught a command to piddle/poo, and she got a treat after each time. However, she learned to pretend to pee by briefly squatting, then running over to get the treat, lol. We had to make her start over again in such cases.
sounds good…but with our outside temp at -10C, it takes ME too long to to get my warm clothes on… bring on spring
If anyone can help, I was curious how they would learn to alert you when they need to go.
I’ve watched hours of puppy training videos and had a very stressful first week with my cocker spaniel and just wanted to share a game changer I found – keep a note of everything your puppy does, make a note of the times of each pee, poo, nap time etc. I found my pup pees every 40 mins so I set a timer on my watch and take him out and it works 99% of the time. I tried the every hour on the hour but he kept having accidents. Keeping track of the times took so much stress out of an incredibly frustrating first few days. Just wanted to share this in hope it helps someone out there going through the same thing. Good luck.
Ive tried and shes still having accidents
mann my daughters love this puppy but him shitting and peeing everywhere got me ready to give him up🤦🏽♂️… im just gonna hope one of these youtube methods work
My issue is it's January in Canada and he hates being outside right now as much as I do, lol. I'd have all the patience in the world if it wasn't -30.
This vid is way too flashy and stimulating for me. Sorry dude, you seem knowledgeable and cool .. but I just couldn’t comprehend much haha
Dear god help me mu husky is 6 months old and just pisses every were all the time had maps down and missed the maps none stop now peeing every were
Mine is just 24hrs and already shitting everywhere 😆
So completely free now means $297!?
The free course is not accessible
What if your puppy is 7 months old and, although she has occasional accidents, always goes non-stop in her kennel? So I always have to bathe her after work? Everyday…
Idk how my ex wife did it, but she got me a pup and in no time when she wanted out she would give a single simple bark at the back door and when she wanted in it was a single simple bark at the door. Best dog I ever had, never had an issue with her going in the house.
How long does my pet have to sleep in a crate? My larger perfect dog learned quickly
Mine shat on my bed😤
Hello, thanks for the video. I have a 2 y/o dog (mini Goldendoodle) that I want to train to go in the garage on a puppy pad. I know it’s probably against what you preach but try to look past that for me 😉. We did this successfully with our previous pup but this one isn’t getting it.
We keep him in a crate at night and when we can’t watch him but he still hasn’t connected the idea that he needs to let us know he has to go.
He will hit a belle when we tell him to go to the garage (7 out of 10x’s) but it’s not consistent enough. He gets little cheese “treats” when he goes but how do we have him alert us when he needs to go? Thank you. 🐶
My pup is doing well 🎉
Dunno about ‘shocked’ or ‘perfect’ but at least you didn’t call it a ‘bathroom break’ like the last YouTuber I watched. It’s inevitable that pups piss & shit inside and training goes on for quite some months with many as no two pups are the same. Consistency and regularity are key in all facets of puppy training.
my puppy likes to do several action packed poops n wees over night, how do you control this?
