I happened to me. My cat has not returned home for a week now and i am scared as hell for him. I am not loosing hope. I just pray in my heart he is healthy and well fed wherever he is.

I lost the love of my life, binx, this way. She was strictly an indoor baby. One day, an old friend of mine had opened my bedroom window and forgot to close it. I didn’t know this until the next day. I was so busy that I hadn’t even noticed she was gone. Normally she runs right back inside if even slightly startled. I did not get this result. I have done everything I can for the past 8 months to try and find my precious baby and have come to a lot of dead ends. This hurts me so much . But I will say this, even tho the heartbreak still stands a very important learning experience has come from it. Cats are very curious in nature no matter how domesticated. Take any precautions u can.

My cat got out when the door opend he was and older orange and white tabby with 1 eye and he was HUGE. his head was the size of a softball😂 his name was kevin….i looked everywere for a week. It was in the winter i prayed everyday to find him…..and well…i found him. Just not in the way i wanted😞 rip kevin you were the bestest boy❤

We almost lost our other kitty that way. Sadly he went another way last year. And. He came back to us. He was frazzled and scared I am pretty sure he got into the neighbors yard with dogs cause the dogs were barking and he came from that direction. I’m so glad he came back so quickly. I would have been heartbroken
Just lost my cat after someone broke in my house lost my cat for 3 weeks was about to go out of town for work and thought let me set a trap with his favorite treat and what do ya know the day I was leaving for my work trip I caught him 3 weeka on his own his eye was meased up with a cloud over it but he is now healthy

Her Majesty ran away from home for 2 days and I was so depressed but on the third day she came back home and never stepped out ever again even if the door is open.
She was so smart and for that I love her so much.
Many years ago a family in NC foothills lived in their 100 year old farm house and Southern magazine did a spread & story on. Before it published a tornado totally destroyed their home and family members were thrown over onto various parts of their property. Grandma too! They all suffered scrapes and bruises with the worst of it being fiberglass insulation stuck in their hair. Their sofa was found miles away! They soon discovered their cat was long gone and not to be found. They still published the story with a footnote about what happened & the rebuilding of their home exactly as it was. Nine MONTHS later, something was slowly coming up their driveway. It was Booger – their beloved cat! He was worn out, thin and very dirty, but he made it home. Oh what a story I’m sure he wanted to tell. That is the love of a cat for his family. Never think they don’t have feelings just because they’re usually quiet and to themselves a lot.
PS: After his return home, Booger made it to the front page of their local newspaper!
Growing up our cat rode off on the top of my gma van & went across town. Missing 2wks we looked everywhere. She found her way back to my other gmas house where she was born, bottle fed and lived for the first 3mos before coming to us. We had her 12yrs, when she passed it felt like i lost a sibling. I miss her. But cats are smart, how she got to my gmas which was 15miles from our house and +20 from where my other gparents lived. Don’t know when she jumped off but its crazy. This was late 90s.
I have tried that and immediately after signing up I tried signing in and got nowhere. It said that my email and password did not match. I tried the FAQ page, no help. I tried Contact us, no place to even post an email or question. A notice said that there was activity concerning my cat but gave me no information to follow up with. I’m very disappointed. I’m very frustrated. I feel totally let down.
It's happened to me right now… gordito is now almost 4 days in the clinic. I can stop crying and wait for the veterinarian to call me to let me know if he can komen home with me or not 😢 I'm heart broken.
Growing up I had a neighbour who's cat was lost for 1 year and returned! He was maybe 5 houses down in a neighbours backyard. The neighbour called the owner and said "I think your cat is in my backyard! She ran to him and he didn't come at first, but after a few tries he realized it was her and ran straight to her. Sweet cat. Used to take naps under our dining room table when he visited my house for his daily nap. (quieter home) He never strayed again, and passed from a bowl obstruction as an elderly cat.
I have lost my pet its certainly terrifying 😢

Thanks for that. It happened to ME too. My Midnight who is right here next to me on the bed got out. First I must say I live alone now❤. 6 years ago I lived with my sister and others . We had5 cats total. Some person else not paying attention had left the door open while chatting and Midnight slipped out. I realized the next morning.. I cried for 3 days after which he was outside the back screen door where he was when he came to live with us. Finally. Kisses and hugs. He is always by my side. Thanks for ur info. U r the best Human Cat Dad ever.
Atm I’m harness training my Kenji and got an apple tag as well, he’s microchipped but if he’d ever get away I can track him…there’s a video on what privacy settings to keep on or turn off so no one can access your info if that concerns you but I think this is and will be very helpful to keep our best friends safe

Ii was anigtmare when my daughter's cat disappeared! One week later (and lots of stresss!) he came back One of the best sounds i've heard in a long long time.
it happened to me i didn't click the rv screen door n my two white cats was gone when i came back with 5 gallons of water to use for whatever ( shower , dishes etc) it was about 10 mins… i kept my screen door n fresh food n water at the edge for 3 days this was when it was 128 degrees in the shade…. n this was oklahoma so my property had alot of copperheads, coyotes etc… so yea i'll never forgiven myself for that… this was in 2015 i put water n food everywhere i could think of. i walked everywhere calling. my neighbors… the ONE TIME i did not double checked the door costed my two babies to be gone n i doubt they are alive…
i stopped owning cats after that i dont deserve them. my two they were my therapy cats.
My cat raced past my mom and got outside yesterday. Thankfully I happened to be just pulling in, and she was startled by my headlights and ran back into the garage. But we've done everything we can in case she does get out and can't find her way home. She's microchipped and on Lost Pets.

Had a cat that disappeared in a blizzard and didn't reappear for 2 weeks. Poor girl thankfully came back, but she was skinny and we took her to the vet to make sure she was okay. We showered her with tons of love and she never tried sneaking out the door like that again. Those 2 weeks were the worst though. I was so frantic going to shelters and asking around for her
In June our cats ripped open a window and we got all but one back. We’re in the middle of nowhere with no shelters or animal control and everyone neglects their pets by keeping them loose (including horses who wonder into yards) so nobody will help us get him back. We did everything right: tags, chipped, neutered, and vaccinated. I don’t think he’ll ever come home and it’s devastating
It happened to me a month ago. I recently adopted her and she managed to escape through a window. I was sad and extremely worried I wouldn’t be able to find her. I hired a detection dog and they found her where she was. I was able to catch with her a cat trap three days later. That was the most tiring week of my life and now I’m super careful of where she is in my home.
in my country (Germany) if the authorities find a dead pet or animal they are not obligated to check for a chip. that is why my outdoor cat has a safety collar with information, is chipped and registered. I hope no one ever has to lose their pet without knowing what happened to them!
I'm so neurotic I wouldn't even let this be a possibility honestly. When I move its like… sealed container, released in 100% secure location and triple check everything. I'm totally nuts about it because I would be annihilated at the loss of my pet in any way other than natural death. Even that will be horrendous.
This happened to my brother only two weeks ago, they had just moved house on the Friday, their cat Layla went missing on the Saturday while the carpets were being fitted. My brother and sister in law looked all over for her, then a week later she jumps through the kitchen window of the new house and startles my brother, who bursts into tears and hugs her, waking the kids up to show her she came back! We think she went to the old house about two miles away, saw that they weren’t there anymore and made her way back! All the vets in the area were alerted and she’s chipped, she threw her collar off, which we found, being AirTaged, I really thought we had lost her for good, so glad to be proven wrong.❤

MY CAT WAS TEN YEARS OLD AND I BELIEVE HE HISMIND WAS GOING. HE HAD BEEN GONE FOR A DAY AND WHEN HE CAME HOME HE COULDN'T FIND THE RIGHT HOUSE. I TOOK HIM HOME BUT THE MOMENT HE WENT BACK OUTSIDE HE LEFT AGAIN. THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM. HE WAS MY BLESSED LITTLE BOY SNORT.
One time, when we lived at 6th floor, we went to movies. And before that we went to briefly to our balcony. I guess we didn't noticed that my cat slipped there, too. Movie was very long, over three hours. My poor girl, was found on our balcony, behind closed doors. If she had jumped, I would have lost her. She was so scared and I felt so guilty. I hugged her so desperately. We were so lucky that we found her safe. 😹 My beautiful girl! 😻
