I accidentally thought my dog to destroy everything made from paper (started with a the cardboard roll from toilet tissue). Lost like 20 important documents ranging from school papers to birth certificates
My dog is pretty big but whenever he paws he does it in the air and I’m the one who has to grab his paw. He does this rarely except when he wants me to feed him faster.
yeah whenever my dog jasper is told to sit he gives his paw resulting in arm scratches and leg bruises we are regretting all our life decisions trying to undo his bad habits lol
My trick was to open the backyard door and the two dogs would sit at the entrance and wait and then I would cry "havoc" and the dogs would storm into the house.. and then lay down by the couch or lay down by my computer workstation.
I wouldn't do this if you had wood floors near the door but it was fine in my case because I had tile and a rug.
They could do the paw thing but I never gave them treats for it. I would put them on the head and massage their shoulders and neck a little bit so they didn't get manic about it.
And I trained them to walk calmly beside and a little behind me. That was the best trick you can teach your dog.
I watched Cesar and every suggestion he made worked fantastically with my dogs. So training was a breeze.
My Saint Bernard has always done this and I didn’t teach it. lol I need tot rain her to stop because that big ole paw hurts. She just smacks me and she doesn’t mean to. I’ve got her to stay down pretty well, but I’m working on getting her to not rush out the door when I open it to the back yard or feeding time.
Nope! The one thing never to teach your dog is that he can have a treat if… My dog 180 pound dog is now a mafia extortionist. I can’t get through a doorway unless I pay the treat toll. I’m a prisoner in my own home. Held captive by a goofy, maniacal mastiff!
My dog knows paw and it has been so helpful when we need to put his shoes on in the winter or clipping his nails. But he also knows to respect us. He is massive but also energetic, i'm more concerned that he will injure himself than anybody else, despite being one of the toughest guard dog breeds…
I adopted my malinois at 8 months, and this is the one thing he's done from he start. I don't know if it's just natural to him or his old owners taught him, as they didn't really teach him anything else. But what he does is he sits and then puts his paw on your leg; I've just learned to be reactive to it because the times I try to stop him or forbid it, he looks so hurt and tries to go in for a cuddle. Like a child seeking comfort after a scolding. I can't take his whine.
Humm you reward paw (or shake as some folks call it) when presented on cue. Not when you are lounging on couch as your big old dog decides it's treat time. Dogs are smart enough to get that after a mistake or 2. If not they would be loading up, sitting chasing their tails or what ever 24 x 7 for treats. Not just paw. .So this paw rant was a waste of carbon credits, oxygen and viewing time. Well thx for showing us what a selective, self righteous dog trainer you are so we can deselect all future videos that you create .
…its not as bad as it seems if they know proper impulse control and have it not be a strong behavior. Yes, my dog will flick their paw when I'm prepping their food every now and then, but they know that this isn't the proper way to get rewards. I taught them to do it alongside sitting or lying down, so even if they do it, they go to the effort of two things rather than one, so it's rare. And the benefit of being able to ask for their paw to get access to cleaning it is actually really useful.
I taught my dog paw but directed his paw towards a button. Then I taught him the meanings of a few buttons so he can demand things in words now. 😂 only slightly less annoying.
I had a big dog and I didn't mind him offering me the paw. He would just raise it and hope for me to take it. I wouldn't want to teach him bark. That could be annoying if offered at night.

I think this man might be a dog
She seems like such a great guardian. Consistently on alert, protecting her leader.❤

I think speak is the worst for the same reason
My dog already paws at every. I put words to it and she only gets a treat if she places her paw in my hand. It's helped a ton
I tought my dog „paw „ and he doesn’t offer me paw when I don’t „ask „ to

What breed is that?
Yup, I have a rescue whose previous owners taught him paw,not much else! and it’s been hard work to stop the pawing!!
What kind of dog is this here in the video called "Puppy"?
I bet you are the type of man who uses shock collars …..behind closed door …all your videos are the very anthitisis of proper dog training .
