I really like this video! Security and going through big crowds are a major stress for individuals on the autistic spectrum. There’s a lot of sensory overload and overstimulation. How did you prepare your service dog for the airport? Freya knows 10 tasks and I’m still training her how to do more tasks to help me. I’ am so used to traveling without a service dog that I am really excited that I can travel with Freja once she turns two.the next year! Everything was always stressful for me when I traveled. I had a hard time with the sensory overload and the overstimulation. Do you have any options on what type of gear that I can use, so that I do not have to take off anything?
If I went to an airport and I saw a dog not only with no leash, but not even a fucking collar or anything I would absolutely LOSE IT. My whole week would be ruined. You can get a collar, vest and leash without metal. You can even make them. /serious
In the UK, (other than official assistance dogs and those small enough – 8kg or under that fit into carriers) dogs a re not allowed in the cabin.
So if your dog goes by air their are these so-called 'specialized' animal freight companies that charge a fortune (I paid £1400+) for not doing much at all. Collecting your dog from your home (with the paperwork that 'you' and your vet have already processed together) and taking them to the airport to be processed and checked with your dog.
I would like to state that the airlines will not let you just turn-up at the airport with your dog and hand it over for the flight. Therefore these animal air transport companies are there to make a quick buck, with limited input on their part.
Also, many years ago when I immigrated from the UK to Spain, with my beautiful late boy Max, a chocolate labradoodle, he had to travel in a specially built wooden crate with open cage ends etc, in cargo for the 3 hour flight and collecting him at the other end took ages.
It is a well known fact that an airlines business model is built on minimum space and maximum seats. But what I do not understand is that if you are prepared to pay for an extra seat (so that your dog can sit/lay in the footwell of that seat), what's the issue!.
That old poor excuse of "well it may 'upset' other passengers' has become a bit old and boring has an excuse. Because I have travelled on many planes with dogs 8kg etc in cabin and have never heard a single bark. And yet that can't be said when I have been on a flight and had to endure the piercing sounds of screaming children through the whole flight.
The airlines really do need to change this ridiculous law. Because 'losing a seat fare' is no longer a valid excuse. Personally, (like many dog owners) I would have paid double for the seat so my late boy Max could have layed in the footwell. And that in itself would have made the airline double their 'seat fare!".
the first time my girl ever went through tsa with me, she was in her perfect sit-stay, with no gear on, on the opposite side of the metal detector. when i called her to the other side she looked at me, paused, then ran off the other direction. 🤪 we had been practicing for a while before going with different archways that i could find but service dogs arent robots and yk i hate tsa too. still made me feel silly afterwards 😂
Every airport is a bit different. It’s best to just wait and follow their instructions. I’ve found them very helpful and my dog is well trained so he can handle whichever way they want it done.
Ok … thank you very much for saying ,” if you choose “ . So tired of people saying TSA MADE them which is total BS . Everybody with a service dog should know that TSA cannot make you take your dogs equipment off in the US .

What if it does beep what do you do?
You need the sunflower lanyard that's to show the staff at the airport that you got a hidden disability then noone will bother you or your dog
This beautiful SD is well-behaved and trained. He focused on the handler when she took the gear off and stood calmly. ❤
My dog wouldn't be able to do this her collar is her focus/play signal.
I’m trying to register my dog as a ESA and I love traveling so I may need this lol

Or you could get TSA approved service dog gear! I plan on getting a TSA approved slip lead!
Is it ok to ask what you have a service dog for. If not it's ok. I love your videos btw. 😊😊❤❤
Another white woman with an unnecessary “service dog”
Americans are the softest people on earth. How many people need “support dogs” 😂😂😂

I get that some ppl are bad but who would go as far to try hiding somthing INSIDE their dog to get it through an air port-

ALL FAKE DOGS complain about this. That's cause their dogs are NOT REAL TRAINED DOGS. This is a true trained dog with a smart wonderful person!!
If I took my dog buster to the airport he would sit down and lay on his back and wait for belly rubs and be so happy that there are people to pat him😊
duh
