My dog would just turn and look but go and follow after me while maybe look back once more, I think my dog is a good non reactive dog but not as good as they are
Both of my dogs are not trained, but we take them out on walks without leashes in our neighborhood sometimes and they donโt go off running. They just stay by our side. They are both good girls. ๐๐๐๐

What sucks is ppl thinking a trained (well mannered dog) is a sad and/or mistreated dog. I still struggle with not being seen as mean or crude when I donโt allow my dog to interact โmeetโ other dogs while on walks without my okay or the fact that my dog also has an e-collar when off leash. The looks of discontent and judgement ppl give you when they ask and I say โno thankโ or they donโt ask, make an attempt to pet and we keep walking, whew! ๐ . I promise she is a loved pup! Any training or tool I use is for her safety and my sanity!!
He knows and he wants to but his owner comes first so he wonโt unless given a signal.

I remember walking my belgian malinois/german shepard mix, my bling long haired Chihuahua, and my pitbull mix through a public park when i was a kid, and this furry little hellhound coming out of nowhere and attacking my dogs. Thankfully, they were all trained to back away on command, so me and my dogs were backpedalling whilst this small demon was caught by their owner. None of my dog were harmed, but that lady was lucky her dog wasnt killed by mine. The pitbull mix was a rescue from an illegal dogfighting ring, and was very protective over me.
