I have a question about catahula leopard dogs. It’s not a common breed and I didn’t know about the breed until my family adopted them. I don’t know much about them, and my two are not completely trained (not to mention they’re puppies), but I do know they’re hunting dogs and very protective and hate strangers. Not to mention I’ve noticed they’re insecure. I’ve not seen many of your videos on how to train dogs in general but it would be nice to know what you think about their temperament when it comes to a house hold family if you’ve ever had experience with this breed and if their aggression towards stranger will be a hard thing to handle.

I have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever very protective as over the family hunt guard and protect very Territorial and does not like strangers or unknown dogs was just as good as Watchdog as my old Belgium Shepherd at Chesapeake is no joke

I’ve been thinking of getting a protection dog, the only issue is I have no idea which breed would be best for me. I pretty much live alone in a sketchy neighborhood. I do occasionally have a visitor my younger sibling. A lot of people told me I should get a German Shepherd, what dog do you think is the best?
What about the DDR for a family ?

Cane Corso for ever ! 🙂 And its not really true about them. In my country they are weak, they only want for show and nothing else. I never found, seen a good work corsi !

Belgian Groenendaal owner here. Smartest, most intense, athletic dog I’ve ever owned. Sweet as hell to the family, an absolute terror to anything remotely threatening. Haldir was as much weapon as companion. I loved him so much, but they’re not for most people.

I have a rottweiler..i hade allway have that breed, dont start with a rottweiler.
Its easier to have a dog when you live alone.
We live outside the town, he protect me much against other peoples and their dogs.
Its just fine..for me.
I love my German Shepherd I've had German Shepherds my whole life. And yes she will take you out if you even think about coming at me or breaking into my house

I'm from Albania. My grandma told me when I was a kid that in villages the dogs were not allowed to be inside the house whatsoever. Their place was the yard. Later growing up and being atentive heard that this was custum to towns too. Guarding dogs, sheepdogs are not for apartments. I love them very much but since I live in an apartment they are out of reach. It's not good neither for the animal nor for me.
Wenn man genug Zeit und Platz hat vom Gelände, dann kann man die ersten 2 handeln. Aber Cane Corso ist wirklich nur für erfahrene Hundebesitzer ❤️🐕
My WLGSD is the absolute best dog Ive ever owned. Yep….totally different power and different learning curve for me in training….but she’s just amazing.
100% agree. I had and trained American GSDs and had a couple German GSDs and you’re describing the differences accurately. The German dogs were working dogs, not pets. Great Schutzhund dogs. The American dogs always had hip dysplasia (even though some were from show lines) and were great pets but soft.
Id substitute corso with rottweiler
I live in Jacksonville Florida and my working line German Shepherd does a damn good job protecting my house and car from crackheads and sketchy ass people I've never won title problem with her drive but I will most definitely say for a novice dog owner I would not recommend

A little confused cuz in one of your videos you said the German Shepherd would be the good family protection dog the working line specifically and now you're saying something different
Omg I have a GDS and a Dutch shepherd and let me tell you I'm very busy with them that's my GDS in my pic he's my ride or die he protects me without that training we have had lots of training . My Dutch is a hand full she they are alot of work I keep them busy….
