Thank you for teaching us about potty training a puppy, I just have one question: Is there a way to do it for a puppy who hasn't gotten all these shots yet
Hi Rachel! Thank you for this video. I have two, 5-year-old Pomeranians and a 12-week-old Australian Shepherd puppy that we just adopted. Do I have to crate train her at night since the other two dogs are not in a crate in our bedroom at night? I would like it if it was possible to keep her in our master bedroom and then obviously just take her out every 4 hours but I didn't know if that would be still possible. She does not like being in the in the crate while the other two have free range of the room.
People also need to understand, though, that you can't fully potty train a young puppy in a short amount of time, or really at all. Maybe you can get them to understand where they are supposed to go, but a dog doesn't gain full control of its bladder and bowels until over a year old, so until that time if the dog needs to go and you're not right on top of it, the dog won't be able to hold it and will have no choice but to have an "accident". Even a well trained dog is going to have the occasional accident up until around 15 months.
No you had me until you said to wake up your sleeping puppy every hour to 2 hours. You must been eating cracker jacks. You don’t wake a sleeping baby of any species to go potty. 😂😂😂
Hi I just starting watching some of your video and I'm hooked! I've adopted a baby girl miniature long hair dashund. I don't know were to post this question which is; Do you have any tips on how best to wash peed on beds or blankets? I've been told because of dogs good nose if you don't get all the pee smell out when washed that the pup will still smell the pee even if we don't and will pee on that same place on the blanket again, is this true?
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer this question, I'm sure your super busy with so many question. If you already answered this somewhere, anyone reading this know were to direct me that would be great 🤗
I have puppy n we’ll be out for a good couple of hours n as soon as I bring him in he still pees inside, what should I do? He usually poops fine outside no problem or sometimes I’ll catch him mid pee inside n I take him straight out n won’t do it anything until inside again 😢
Got my pup this week, its been 8 years since i trained my dog and she barely needed any house training. So i need videos like this to help cause i have no idea what im doing anymore
Your potty training advice is off in so many ways. You Do NOT wake a puppy up every 2-4 hours –that is absurd!! Also, once they pee, you bring them right back in the house so that they are learning what the outside is for….
We are struggling so bad with our female bulldog. She will not pee in her inside and outside crates, but if she gets to free roam around the house, she potty's everywhere. I guess we need to start gating her in different rooms. She is so stubborn.

She didn’t even explain what to do when you’re at work. She said to just take them out every 1-4 hours but how imma do that when I’m at work?
At what age / point do we stop going out every so many hours during sleep night time?
What happened to rub their nose in it and they won't do it again

Shouls you wash your dog's bottom every time he does a number 2?

Sounds like I will need to take at least 3 weeks off of work to potty train. Shorter than maternity leave but definitely worth it 😊
Thank you so much you gave me some very great information that I didn't know and need to change around. You are a blessing my friend. Thank you!
No sleep for mommy 😂

3:18 that does not make him your brother. You are very confused.
I sat outside with mine for 2 hrs yesterday waiting for him to go… we go back in and he poops and pees within 3 min 😂💀
