Do you feel like youβre struggling with your puppy-biting training? Maybe itβs time to change the way you think about the steps: https://youtu.be/FEh9GIROT1E Happy Training!
My dog intends to like.. bite and scratch to the point I bleed.. Iβm a starter and I got her a month ago. Sheβs a Pomeranian puppy, Iβm thinking about surrendering her.. but I wanna try to teach her not to bite.
Our Puppy is 13 weeks old and is not that well behaved when it comes to biting. Whenever we hold him and have our hand on his collar he turns his head and bites our wrists. He jumps and bites our hands, knees, legs etc. He gets insanely crazy and wonβt stop no matter what we do. Do you have any advice you can provide? HELP!!!
Hi, My wife and I just bought a Bichon poo, he is now 11 weeks old. We named him Buddy but he is bitting and nipping at our hands and feet. I watched your video and will try this tomorrow, will let you know how it goes.
What if you're not just already perched on the ground in that way to he able to just grab like that? You have to stop what you're doing, get down? By the time all that happens the moment to correct has passed.
just found this video!! i needed so bad since my pitbull mix puppy wont stop bitting and nipping me (she even sliced my finger open with one of her teeth, she is teething lol) i really am grateful!
what if your puppy tries to bite your hands while you try to hold him in a passive grip? he always reaches for my fingers when i hold him like that. i feel like it defeats the purpose if i try to withstand him biting my fingers
What if your puppy is super skittish and runs when you reach for them with your hand? they'll play and bite on your hands , but run when you reach for them? I have a rescue puppy
All good pointers. high pitched voices and lots of verbalization makes puppies and dogs crazier. It's really hard to control that with other ppl. Maybe choosing fewer words is better than using many words for the same thing ie., settle, calm, no. Those border collies, smart dogs, easy to train, picks up what we want quickly. I liked the friend interaction too, lol
I can 1000% confirm this works. Iβve done this everyday with my 10 week shihtzu who would not stop bitting my hand and now we can settle in the couch calmly and actually pet my dog.
I'm so glad you're here sharing such valuable information. However, I have a 14 week old puppy that is a MAJOR biter. I've tried to implement the method in this video but it seems to rile him up even worse. I am at my wits end. I've tried and tried everything I can with absolutely no success. What do I do now? He's tearing up my hands and shredding my clothes. I am desperate for any help the YouTube universe can offer. Thank you!
Just tried this on my 3 mo puppy and Iβve seen progress already! He has plenty of teething toys and all that, but everytime he sees my fingers and face I tried to bite it. Sometimes not hard like he recognizes it but he still do it.
Will keep this practice daily because Iβve seen him cease and think it twice. Now he starts biting and letβs it go
We just adopted a 6/7 month old from the pound. Straight into the naughty adolescent phase , where the body is big and heavy but the brain is still like a puppy (with some added rebellion and protest barking thrown in!! Yikes). I sympathise watching this video – the puppy doesn't always behave as planned! I've quickly learned a lot of patience and consistency. If your puppy is moving into the tricky adolescent phase, please be patient and don't give up. Stay calm, don't engage if the play gets out of hand and invest in a bit of professional training, it will be so worth it.
I tried the holding him immobile by my side and it does not work for my dachshund. He spazzed and twisted so much it became too concerning, especially for his throat and spine.
I feel so bad cause I want to give positive reinforcement for my puppy. But she literally never stops trying to bite us when we're handling her. So there's no time to give her a treat for doing good. And I have no idea how to do the passive hold, she just keeps squirming and getting more intense and not calming down
I was so scared while I was doing this with my 10 week old toy poodle.. as I picked him up to calm him he growled and bared his teeth and was struggling so bad I really didn't think he would calm down and his aggressiveness was alarming..but you he did calm and go full noodle and looked at me! The feeling it gave me was so awesome!
Lifting the dog by the collar/jawbone/NECK at 1:00 is not dangerous ? Waving your hands repeatedly over their faces won't attract their attention and cause them to attempt to bite again? Baby talk helps? NEVER coming back to this channel.

How old is that puppy?
What happens when your puppy bites the line and is basically a piranha?

This pup looks and acts exactly like my 4 month Aussie lab mix. So cute. Iβm going to try this!
I wish I could add a picture. That puppy is a look alike and acts like my Sam I Am. Love your videos.

So helpful, and funny too πβ€
What is the best line to get? Size material for a small pup that will grow fast. Thank you. Love your videos!,

This is the best advice we have received! Thank you for giving very relatable advice to normal people using normal dogs!
Ok this holding puppy till he goes limp actually worked for me, thanks.
This is an excellent video. Thank you so much!
90% it does not happen as you proposes. I triyed many times to follow your leads and it does not work, the dog continues bitting your hands
how do u get ur puppy to not nip at other dogs?
When the puppy bites have you ever tried holding the snout closed for a bit? If so, how did that work?
Definitely trying this with my puppy … thanks x

Can't thank you enough for all I learn from you!

How do you do the holding thing? Cause my puppy just squirms around and I feel like I might be choking her a little
What do you do when your puppy has the opposite reaction and gets more violent when you grab them and ends up biting harder?
@McCannDogs Whst would you recommend to do when trying to imobilise the puppy and it doesnt like it, starts to push out hard and even growl?

Excellence!
I really like your training videos and your methods. What kind of training treats are you using?
It was so helpful to see how to handle nipping when it's done to someone other than the trainer.
Thanks
How do u bitting training when your puppy weights 23 lbs at 31/2 months and can not pick him up alot
Or say βNoβ with a pointed finger, take it away and wait until he calms down. I used to do that with my Pitties! It worked every time.β€πΆπΆ
